I had an awesome visit today. Renée the hygienist did a fabulous job and Dr. Hunt is very conservative with treatment planning and has a great personality. Try them out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.”

Tina M., Raleigh, NC

“I cannot say enough about this practice. They are all professional, efficient, personable, and respectful. I have had several procedures done over the years and have never had any kind of problems. The doctors treat you with respect and empathy, which I greatly appreciate.”

Best dentist in Raleigh! I’ve been going to Dr. Barker for the last 6 years since moving to the area. He is extremely meticulous, as well as caring. He takes the time to explain everything. He also does excellent work! Highly recommend.”

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive at our practice in Raleigh, NC. If you don’t see what you’re looking for below, don’t hesitate to give us a call . How do I get emergency dental care?

If you are in a life-threatening situation, call 911! If you have a dental emergency that is not life-threatening, give us a call so we can help. Let us know exactly what’s going on so we can give you further instructions. The majority of hospital emergency rooms are unable to address dental emergencies because they are not properly equipped for them, so you are unlikely to get to the source of the problem there. We are happy to provide same-day appointments for patients who are experiencing a dental emergency. Don’t hesitate to give us a call for assistance.

How much does a dental check-up & cleaning cost in Raleigh?

The cost of a dental checkup varies depending on where you live and other factors. Cleanings and checkups should begin with discussing your health history and discussing any issues you are experiencing with your smile. It should also include a thorough exam, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening. The average cost in markets throughout the USA is between $200 and $350. If you have a dental insurance plan, the fees for your cleaning and checkup will likely be covered because they are preventive services.

What do you do if you can’t afford a dentist?

Dental insurance is an excellent tool to pay for dental care if you have access to it. As a courtesy to our patients, we file your insurance claim and do our best to inform you of your financial portion. We also offer our Dental Concierge Membership Plan , so you can save even if you don’t have access to traditional dental insurance. For a flat yearly fee per patient, you can access complimentary exams, cleanings, discounts, and other valuable benefits. Getting essential treatment shouldn’t mean breaking the bank!

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

All dentists in the United States need to receive either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the 67 accredited dental schools in the country. Acceptance into dental school requires a bachelor’s degree. Dental school takes 3 years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. After graduating, dentists are required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours to keep their licenses.
